10 years ago, Gitte made the first cover for her own iPad, because she couldn't find anything that she thought was beautiful and well-made. Her inspiration comes from the materials she works with: vegetable-tanned leather and wool felt, two of the oldest materials made by human hands. A wonderful match with the by gitte to design. Gitte firmly believes in combination, beauty and function.
In 2020 Gitte started at SYSO with the Content coach program . She now has lifetime access to all tools ( SYSO Campus VIP ) and in 2021 she was ready for a new, timeless branding. Here you see the result and in a while there will also be a new webshop, made in Shopify with the Shopify webshop DIY course .
With a branding project we always first have a conversation, then an online intake (question form) and then we make a mood board. We discuss this mood board with the customer, remove what is less appealing and add where necessary. Ultimately, a nice visual starting point is created and we get to work.
The result for by gitte is a clean, minimalist, serene style that fits the products, beliefs and values of Gitte's company. Stylish and timeless has been our starting point for this design in every way. This way, the logo can stand the test of time without a doubt, as can the sustainable products it ends up on.
We asked Gitte van by gitte a few questions
Why did you start by gitte?
I started by gitte in 2010 because I couldn't find the iPad cover I wanted for our first iPad. I already made accessories for the home, such as pillows, pencil cases and school bags for the kids. by gitte was shaped by the covers I was going to make.
What do you think is the best product (category) from your range?
I think the best product now is the elastic pen sleeve , very handy to hang on your notebook and to protect your pen well, so that the pen clip cannot break off, for example. That's how the elastic pen sleeve was created, I used to always buckle my pen to the elastic of my notebook, until the day I wanted to take my notebook out of my bag and pulled my pen to pieces… That will don't happen to me now. And actually everything in the category workplace is a favorite, it's the tools I work with. Items with a clear purpose, that's what I like.
What made you decide to hire SYSO?
I was already a customer because I joined the Content coach program in mid-2020 . Before that I had also bought individual products, the Sell your stuff online book , the e-book, Master your planning , which is now an extensive course. I was already convinced of how SYSO works.
Are you happy and what have you achieved as a result with your new branding so far?
I am super happy with my new logo and logo! I'm just about to launch it quietly. So no real result yet. It can take me a long time to get used to something, I took the time for that and now it's time to show it to the outside world. The whole way from designing and presenting the new branding was a party, I was pleasantly surprised with the result. My question has been listened to carefully, which is reflected in the new branding .
May we know what your future plans are?
My future plans are to grow with by gitte, I can't make everything myself anymore. I will always continue to do the design process of new items myself, but in the end I would love it if others help me with the production. I will continue to do the customization on request myself, these are unique pieces, often as a starting point an existing item supplemented with my own wishes, the currants from the porridge.
Would you recommend SYSO?
Secure! At first I hesitated to have the branding done by SYSO, because I found most branding designs too cozy, I didn't doubt their abilities, but more whether they would fit my brand. That doubt has been completely removed by looking at designs from Loaded ink (Mark and Mariko's branding agency). Communication with Mariko is nice, not rushed or rushed. The presentations are clear and I really saw the translation of my questions.
