Once Maaike flew all over the world as a flight attendant and found something beautiful everywhere... Until one day she agreed with herself to only bring souvenirs that had a lasting value. And so her love for silver jewelry and pearls arose. One thing led to another, after bringing gifts to order, the idea for a webshop was soon born: Something beautiful for you.
In 2020 it was as clear as what. Maaike wanted to take serious steps with her webshop and then came to us. We were happy to provide her company from top to bottom with a new branding and a converting Shopify webshop . The foundation is now solid and with lifetime access to our Content coach program , Maaike keeps her marketing tight.
Who is Something Beautiful for you?
Something Beautiful is a small-scale, personal webshop, run by Maaike Kamminga. There are mainly jewelry made of sterling silver, real pearls and precious stones. Over the years, not only silver, but also the range of ashes jewelry has become more and more beautiful and larger. This is now also an important part of the range.
Result
At a branding project we always first have a conversation, then an online intake (question form) and then we make a mood board. We discuss this mood board with the customer, remove what is not very appealing and add where necessary. Ultimately, a nice visual starting point is created and we get to work.
The result for Something Beautiful is a calmer color palette to underline the sustainability of the brand. We also looked for a unique, compact shape that could be used to make jewelry labels at a later stage. This is how the tilted heart was created, in which the words of the name turned out to fit perfectly. In addition, the logo is very small yet easily recognizable, which is a must for social media profile photos.
The new webshop
The brand new webshop is made with Shopify , a great SaaS e-commerce solution that grows with the company and is standard equipped with many automatic marketing options. We opted for a very flexible theme, which we could arrange completely according to the branding and wishes.
We asked Maaike van Something Beautiful for you a few questions
Why did you start Something Beautiful for you?
Trade and sales have always attracted me. During our travels through Asia, the purchase of the most beautiful jewelry of sterling silver, with and without gemstones, and beautiful pearls began. Together with my parents I have been at fairs and estate fairs for many years with a beautiful stall that looked like a fairy tale. I received more and more requests from customers where they could also buy our products outside the fairs and markets. Because I also had a young family in the meantime, the idea of an online store was born.
What do you think is the best product (category) from the range?
In addition to selling silver jewelry, I became increasingly interested in beautiful memorial jewelry . This resulted in a very fine collection of ashes pendants and memorial jewellery. It gives a kick to always be able to offer the most beautiful specimens for good prices. It is a fantastic sterling silver product that can bring great comfort and support to people. How beautiful is it to be able to wear a pendant with loving memories? My aim is to keep my price as low as possible so that they are also accessible for the slightly tighter purse.
What made you decide to hire SYSO?
I had been following Mariko from a distance for a number of years and saw what beautiful things happened when she took care of a site or logo. The desire to let her have a look at my site grew. When I could no longer run trade fairs and fairs due to Covid-19, it gave me the opportunity to go full for my webshop. After a pleasant intake, I started working with Mariko. This gave both my site and myself a huge boost.
What have you achieved with your new branding so far?
My new branding has just been completed but already gives me peace and a very proud feeling. The appearance has become much more professional, which means that I also attract more customers. In addition, it is nice to have something to hold on to with regard to color, font and logo.
May we know what your future plans are?
In addition to my new branding, I also follow the Content coach program at SYSO. This combination provides structure in the management of my webshop. This means I don't have to reinvent the wheel all the time and I can focus more on the things I enjoy more, such as product photography and customer contact.
I am very excited and confident in the future. I can now proudly say that I am the owner of a very nice company that I stand behind 100%. My plans are to increase my sales. I want to do this by getting more publicity by doing more on social media and blogging. In addition, I will of course continue to expand my collection so that my customers are always surprised with something beautiful!
Would you recommend SYSO?
I experience the cooperation with Mariko as very pleasant. No quick, smooth talk but structure, peace and confidence. Also a pep talk every now and then. She first tries to get a good idea of what I feel comfortable with and she aligns her ideas with that. She took me step by step through the development.
