Maak jouw zomer converterend met deze tip

Make your summer converting with this tip

In the summer, many online shops see a big dip in sales, especially in the months of July and August. It is therefore a good idea to have some plans in place to prevent this relapse. A creative and fun way to keep your customers involved is to organize a summer search campaign, inspired by the now classic online Easter egg hunt!

Find sunglasses at Growing Concepts

An inspiring example of this is the Growing Concepts search campaign. We recently purchased a beautiful terrarium from this webshop and have since received their weekly newsletter. This week there was an interesting promotion: customers have a chance to win €50 shopping credit and a discount by finding one of five hidden sunglasses. Although the promotion was somewhat confusing due to the many elements, it offered a nice concept that can be easily and effectively applied in your webshop.

Tip: whatever you do; keep it simple

The key to a successful promotion is simplicity. Make sure your promotion is clear and easy to understand for your customers. Simple instructions and clear rewards make it more fun and easier for everyone to participate.

The benefits of such a summer search

Organizing a search has several advantages for web shops:

  1. Increased engagement: Searches attract customers' attention and encourage them to stay on your website longer. This increases the chance of purchases.
  2. Improved customer retention: By providing a fun and interactive experience, you strengthen the bond with your customers and increase loyalty.
  3. Higher Conversions: Searches can increase conversion rates by motivating customers to participate and potentially make a purchase to qualify for prizes.
  4. More traffic to your website: Promoting the search campaign through newsletters, social media and other channels can generate extra traffic to your website.
  5. Strengthening your brand: A creative and well-executed search can bring your brand positive attention and distinguish it from competitors.
  6. Extra sales during the summer months: By giving customers a reason to visit your website and participate in the promotion, you can counteract the decline in sales during the summer months.

How do you organize a converting summer search campaign?

Here are some steps to get you started:

  1. Determine a theme: Choose a summer theme that suits your webshop. Think of looking for sunglasses, shells, suns or cocktails.
  2. Hide the items: Place the selected items in different places in your webshop. Make sure they are clearly visible but still a bit hidden to keep things exciting.
  3. Communicate clearly: Provide clear instructions on how customers can participate and what they can win. For example: "Find one of the five hidden suns and have a chance to win €50 shopping credit!"
  4. Offer attractive prizes: Give customers a good reason to participate by offering attractive prizes, such as store credit, discount or free products.
  5. Promote your campaign: Use your newsletter, social media and website to promote your search campaign. Tell your customers how they can participate and what they can win.
  6. Keep it fun and interactive: Make the search a fun experience. For example, add a game element or encourage customers to share their finds on social media.
  7. Evaluate and learn: After the action, evaluate what went well and what could be improved. Use these insights to make your future actions even more successful.
